Skyline Update: Raw Material Scenario — Late July 2026

We post a short raw material update here periodically so our regular buyers have visibility into what's driving pricing, rather than being surprised by it. Figures below are from industry pricing trackers as of late July 2026 and are directional, not exact procurement figures — always confirm current pricing with us directly before placing a large order.
Polypropylene (PP) Resin
PP resin — the base feedstock for BOPP film — moved up again late this month. Domestic producers raised list prices by roughly ₹5,000/MT effective 27 July 2026, alongside similar increases on HDPE and LLDPE/LDPE grades. Even after the hike, Indian PP remains priced well below other major regions — trackers put India at roughly $1.12/kg against around $1.22/kg in Northeast Asia and $1.77/kg in Europe, so India continues to hold a relative cost advantage for anyone sourcing domestically.
BOPP Film
BOPP film had a sharper run-up earlier in the year, peaking around $1,970/MT in June after climbing from about $1,942/MT in March. Since then, the market has moved into a correction phase — prices are softening not because PP feedstock costs have dropped (they've held firm to higher), but because downstream demand has cooled and converters are booking more cautiously. In short: film cost pressure from the resin side hasn't gone away, but competitive/demand-side softness is currently offsetting some of it.
What This Means for Your Ordering
- If you have a large order planned in the next 4-6 weeks, current pricing is reasonably favourable — resin costs are rising but film prices haven't followed yet
- Locking in a rate now for a scheduled reorder is a reasonable hedge against the correction phase reversing once demand picks back up
